BHAGAVAD GITA PART- 7

1. Supreme personality God said to Arjuna : now listen how by practising Yoga in full consciousness of Me i.e. completely dependent on Me, with mind attached to Me you can know me properly fully and you will be free from all doubts.

2. I shall declare unto you this knowledge. This wisdom and real knowledge of Divinity, having known which nothing else remains still to be known in this world.

8aComplete knowledge of the world and the spirit behind it is to be known. If one knows that the God is the source of all knowledge, then he knows everything and nothing remains to be known to him.

3. Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor, or try for perfection, those who have achieved perfection hardly one knows me in reality. Some rare soul strive to realise me again some rare one (who devote himself exclusively to me) knows me in reality.

4. Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego - all together, these eight constitute My separated, material energies. The nature is divided into, earth, water, fire, air, mind, ether, reason and ego. This is called lower (insentient) nature.

5. Besides this, O mightly armed Arjuna, there is another superior energy of Mine, which comprises of living entities, by which the whole universe is sustained know it as my higher (sentient) nature in the form of the Jiva (the life principle).

Here it is clearly mentioned that living beings belong to the superior nature of the Lord. Whereas energies like water, air, mind i.e. the eight mentioned in 4 are inferior energies. Superior living being utilise the inferior energies for different purposes that due to that energy the whole universe i.e. material world function.

6. All created beings have their source in these two natures. Of all that is material and all that is spiritual in this world, I am the creator of all creatures from both energies and I am the distroyer of all creatures created by nature.

Due to spirit soul material body develops child grows to boyhood and then to manhood. When soul is not there in the body, he dies. Super soul controls the soul. Super soul (God) is the origin, and end of the body. As soon as soul enters the body with the orders of Super soul body functions. When the soul leaves the body under the orders of Super soul, body becomes useless and man dies.

7. O Arjuna, No truth is superior to Me. Everything rests upon me.

From this it is clear that the supreme Absolute truth is the supreme personality of God head, who is all pervading by his multi energies, both material and spiritual.

8. O son of Kunti, I am the taste of Water, the light of sun and moon, the syllable Om in the vedic Mantras, I am the sound in ether and ability in man.

9. I am the sweet fragrance in earth, I am heat in fire, the life in all beings and I am the penances of all asceties. Indigestion is due to a low temperature in the belly for which fire is needed. In Krishana consciousness we become aware that earth, water, fire, air and every active principle, all chemicals and all material elements are due to Krishana. The duration of life is also due to Krishana. By the grace of God men can prolong his life or diminish it. So God is active in every sphere, we should depend upon him.

10. Arjuna, I am the original seed of all beings, I am the intelligence of intelligent and I am the glory of all powerful men.

11. I am the strength of the strong, free from passion and desire, I am sex life which is not contrary to religious principles O Arjuna.

12. The whole of this creation is deluded by objects evolved from the three mades of nature; Sattva, Rajas and Tamas, i.e. Goodness, passion or ignorance. I am in one sense everything but I am independent.

I am not under the modes of nature (Sattva Goodness) Rajas (Passion-Desires) Tamas (Ignorance). On the other hand all the modes of nature are within Me.

13. Deluded by three modes (Goodness, passion and ignorance) the whole world does not know Me, that I am above the Modes and imperishable.

14. This divine energy of MIne, consisting of the three modes of material nature is difficult to overcome but those who have surrendered into Me, can easily cross beyond it and can understand this will.

15. Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, who are lowest among mankind, who worship demons and perform ~vil deeds, do not worship me.

16. Four types of men worship me Arjuna .

i) seekers of wordly objects ( the desirer of wealth etc.)
ii) sufferers (who are in distress),
iii) seekers of knowledge ( who are in search of know I edge),
iv) Man of wisdom(who are in search of absolute of this world) God truth.
These four types of person who worship me, who are distressed, who are in need of money, those who are sometimes inquisitive and those who are in search of knowledge of the Absolute truth, are not pure devotees, because they want something in exchange for worship. Pure worship is without aspiration and without desire for material profit

17. Of these, the one who is in full knowledge and who is always engaged in pure devotional service is best. For I am very dear to him and he is dear to me.

18. All these are noble, undoubtedly magnanimous souls, but. he who is situated in knowledge of Me, is Just like me being engaged in my service, he is sure to attain Me which is highest and perfect goal.

19. After many births and deaths, he who has actual knowledge of Me surrenders unto Me. Knowing me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a soul is very rare.

20. Those whose wisdom has been carried away by various desires, who loose their wisdom in desires worship demigods and they follow the particular rules and regulations of worship of demigods and according to their own natures.

21. Whatsoever form any devotee desires to worship with faith, I stablize the faith of that particular devotee in that very form.

I am in everyone's heart as the supersoul. As soon as one desires to worship some demigod, I make his faith steady so that he can devote himself to that particular deity.

22. Endowed with such faith, he worships a particular demigod and obtains his desires, but these benefits are bestowed by Me alone.

23. Men of small intelligence worship demigods and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees ultimately reach My supreme planet.

24. Unintelligent men who do not know Me perfectly think that I was impersonal before and have now assumed this personality. Due to their small knowledge, they do not know my higher nature, which is imperishable and supreme.

25. I am never known to the foolish and unintelligent. For them I am covered by My internal therefore they do not know that I am unborn and infalible. His external form is bliss and knowledge and his energies are all inexhaustible.

26. O Arjuna, as supreme personality of Godhead, I know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present and all things that are yet to come. I also know all living beings but no one knows Me.

27. O Arjuna, all living entities are born into delusion. They are deluded by pairs of opposites arising from desire and hate.

28. Persons who have acted piously in previous lives and in this life and whose sins are completely eradicated only those can be free from delusion of pairs of opposite i.e. hate and desire. They can engage themselves in my service with determination.

29. Intelligent persons strive for liberation from old age and death, taking refuge in Me they serve Me. They are actually Brahaman because they entirely know everything, the whole knowledge of the self and all action.¬

30. Those in full consciousness of Me, who know Me, the Supreme Lord, to be governing the demigods and all material objects, all methods of sacrifice, they know Me properly even at the time of death.
